Discovering St. Petersburg
St. Petersburg is often referred to the Venice of the North or the Paris to the east. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, it is a place like no other. The city offers vibrant culture that you will find no where else, there is a little something to please everyone here! St. Petersburg has an average age of 39 and hosted tons of annual events. Some of the things hosted in St. Petersburg is the international reowned St. Anthony's Triathlon, Honda Grand Prix Street Race and recently the NCAA Men's Final Four. Tampa Bay Devil Rays baseball team has just made out city’s Tropicana Field their permanent home and shared in the job growth of the Tampa Bay region that has led the nation.
Declared the healthiest place in the U.S. in 1885, it wasted no time in wooing the recuperating and the retired, at one point putting 5,000 green benches on its streets to take the weight off elderly legs. Although it remains a mecca for the retired, St. Petersburg has worked hard to attract young blood. In addition to rejuvenating the pier, which now offers something for every age, its diverse selection of museums and plethora of art galleries has contributed to its emergence as one of Florida's richest cultural cities. The town has acquired a major collection of works by Salvador Dali, making St. Petersburg a good option if you are looking for a break from the beaches nine miles west on the Gulf Coast.
